About Us

Hand Energy Services was founded in 2008 by Thomas and Jamie Hand. Our initial focus was to provide intelligent assessments of home performance, based on three simple ideas: make homes more comfortable and healthier, save homeowners money, and lower carbon footprints. We soon realized that our clients needed a a way to move from the energy audit reocmmendations to implimentation in a more seemless way.

As a result in early 2009, HES expanded to become a full service building performance company with the addition of decicated spray foam and cellulose trucks. We added solar hot water to our list of services in the second half of 2010. Our high standards and dedication to quality work have earned us a reputation for exceptional results. Certifcations: Hand Energy Services is a participating contractor in the Home Performance with Energy Star program through Efficiency Vermont. We maintain certifications with the Building Performance Institute as Building Analyst and Shell and Heating Specialist. We are also a member of Efficiency First and actively support ongoing legeslative initiatives to promote energy efficiency and smart energy policy. We also carry solar hot water and PV certifcations through Schuco.
